Fun Riding Holiday for Families
Riding brings pure happiness – and there is plenty of it here at the Friedrichshof. Discover idyllic trails during your riding holiday in Franconian Switzerland in Bavaria and enjoy nature on horseback. For guests of all ages, on a horse or a pony: Riding will become an experience here. Please note: There is no riding on Sundays.
GUIDED PONY RIDES
Here at our riding arena, children can slowly and playfully get acquainted with pony riding. Guided rides take place Monday through Saturday, and once a week, we offer a short, free trial riding session as part of our childcare service.
GUIDED RIDES
Even beginners and inexperienced riders can discover the joy of riding with us. With an experienced guide and horses that are led during the walk, you can explore nature at a leisurely pace and enjoy your time in the saddle.
LUNGE LESSONS
Our lunge lessons are ideal for beginners and are individually tailored to each student’s physical abilities, concentration and empathy. This makes your first attempts at riding a fun and relaxed experience.
INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
We offer riding lessons for adults and children with initial riding experience in our new riding hall (aged 6+). You can further develop your skills and deepen your joy of riding in a relaxing atmosphere.
GUIDED TRAIL RIDES IN NATURE
Our guided rides are only suitable for experienced riders. Our riding instructors will assess your skill level in a one-on-one session before you head out. The rides vary in duration and difficulty and are always accompanied by an experienced riding instructor.
Perfect Conditions for Horse and Rider
Our spacious riding hall, spanning 15 x 30 m, offers ideal training conditions. Right next to it is a spacious 30 x 30 m structure with an open stable and extensive paddocks for the well-being of large and small horses. Every riding session is a pleasure and an educational adventure.
From the First Contact to the Ride
At the Friedrichshof, we offer a variety of activities with horses. Beginners can get acquainted with the animals during a guided ride, while individual riding lessons help to improve riding style. Accompanied rides round off the offer for experienced riders.

Facts about Horses
HORSE CARE
By grooming and caring for horses, children get to know the grooming equipment and practise how to use it correctly. A playful and valuable introduction to the world of horses and their care.
PONY WALKS
Children learn how to lead a pony correctly and how to behave safely around a horse. The respectful treatment of animals is taught in a playful and sensitive way.
TAKING A WHIFF OF STABLE AIR
Children are allowed to help with the daily stable work and feeding. This is a fun way for them to learn what taking care of animals entails. A great experience for little animal lovers!

Adventures on Horseback
During the holidays, in addition to our standard programme, you can expect stable work, pony hikes, donkey and goat walks, and alpaca hikes. Some activities are free, others are available at a small surcharge. Please note: Our ponies have Sundays off!
